ZerobusSinkError

Enum ZerobusSinkError

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub enum ZerobusSinkError { Transient(String), Poison(String), FatalConfig(String), WriteBoundary(String), Catalog(String), Encode(String), }
Expand description

Everything that can go wrong in the Zerobus sink.

Variants (Non-exhaustive)§

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
§

Transient(String)

A transient transport error — retry on the existing stream after backoff.

§

Poison(String)

The stream is unrecoverable and must be rebuilt (closed transport, credential revoked, unexpected permanent transport error).

§

FatalConfig(String)

Configuration is invalid and the sink must not start / must fail loudly (e.g. a primary-raw precondition is unmet).

§

WriteBoundary(String)

A write-boundary type mismatch that could not be reconciled, with the offending column named — never an opaque per-batch rejection.

§

Catalog(String)

The table catalog (provisioning / credential vending) failed.

§

Encode(String)

Encoding the Arrow batch to IPC bytes failed.

Implementations§

Source§

impl ZerobusSinkError

Source

pub fn class(&self) -> ErrorClass

The recovery class of this error.

Source

pub fn is_transient(&self) -> bool

Whether the error should be retried on the existing stream after backoff.

Source

pub fn from_transport(retryable: bool, message: impl Into<String>) -> Self

Map a transport-level “retryable?” flag (as the Databricks SDK reports via ZerobusError::is_retryable) to the sink’s transient/poison split.
